CONTENTS

During the course, we will build a small tool cabinet and dive deep into the following contents:

– Carcass work. Dowelling, dominoes, dovetailing and other solutions. (We’ll use dowelling but will discuss and see examples of all the options).
– Cabinet doors: frame-and-panel work
– Cabinet backs: shiplap
– Traditional drawer making and fitting
– Hanging methods

– Furniture visit: Germán will take you to his place and show alternative examples of construction discussed during the course.

SCHEDULE

September 24th – October 4th (arrival is on September 23rd in the evening)

From 9:30 to 19:00, with a lunch pause

On Saturday 28th, we’ll enjoy a day off, bathe in a nearby lake and visit Germán’s furniture

STUDENT’S REQUISITES

You must know the essential use of chisels, saws, hand planes, mortise-and-tenon joinery and dovetailing.

You must bring your own ear and eye protection. I strongly recommend the use of closed shoes for safety.

BOOKING INFORMATION (course only)

Please note that booking accommodation and food service must be done separately (details below in the Food and Accommodation section).
Reservation is made upon the course purchase. You can optionally make your reservation upon a 50% (€625) payment via bank transfer (contact us for details). This payment is non-refundable (except in case of cancellation): if you cannot attend, your place will be transferred to the next edition or other courses of your choice.
Payment for the remaining 50% will be made at least 30 days before the start of the workshop. If you do not meet this deadline, your reservation will be postponed to the next call.
If you are a professional client in Spain, let me know before payment to apply the corresponding tax withholding.
If you leave your place empty without prior notice, you will not be able to recover the hours lost or the cost of the course.
Days lost due to non-attendance cannot be recovered.

FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION

In intensive courses, we have accommodation in the same compound. It is an exceptional opportunity to interact with classmates and teachers! In our free time, we find moments to exchange impressions, get to know each other and continue sharing.

The accommodation facilities are 25 m2 tiny houses with two levels, double and single beds, with electricity. Depending on the number of students, you may have to share it with another person, although the space is sufficient to maintain some privacy.

To concentrate on the course experience, we have a kitchen service with tasty, healthy, local and seasonal dishes. The service includes breakfast, lunch and dinner—vegetarian/vegan alternatives upon request. Please make sure you inform us well in advance of any allergies or intolerance of other issues. Otherwise, we won’t be able to satisfy your requests. Please note there will be one single person cooking with love for us, and alternative dishes are hard and time-consuming to prepare.

Meals and accommodation cost 700€ for the eleven days, arriving September 23rd in the evening to October 5th in the morning. Lunch and dinner on September 30th are not included, as we’ll eat at a restaurant. Contact us for more information and booking the food & accommodation service.
